The award-nominated duo Dan + Shay is scheduled to perform for the fall SOLO concert Oct. 3.
The duo received two ACM award nominations at this year’s ceremony, but did not win. The band is currently on tour promoting it’s second album “Obsessed.”
John Pardi received the most votes by students but declined performing due to being booked by the time votes passed, SGA president Rachel Martin said. This is a situation Martin said she wants to avoid in the future by having the vote earlier.
“In the future, we’re going to try to actually host the vote the semester before, so that way we have more of a time period to put in our request for the artist that the students really want,” Martin said.

The show is scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. on Oct. 3 in the Hooper Eblen Center. Tickets can be picked up from outside the SGA office in the RUC. SGA members plan to distribute tickets until the day of the concert or until tickets run out.
Other choices for the concert included Hunter Hayes, Dustin Lynch and Rodney Atkins.
