The Golden Eagle volleyball squad (15-3, 4-2 OVC) traveled to Lindenwood last Thursday and Friday to take on the Lions. Tech fell three to nothing in both matches to a Lindenwood team that has been on fire so far in conference play.

Despite these two losses, Tech has found early success in OVC play so far this season, winning four matches in a row prior to their trip to Lindenwood.

On Sept. 27, Tech traveled to TSU to open conference play against the Tigers and left Nashville with a three-two win.

Tech then returned to the Hooper Eblen Center on Sept. 28 to take on Morehead State. The Golden Eagles were able to win three to one thanks to the dominant performance of senior outside hitter Madolyn Isringhausen (20).

Isringhausen finished with 25 kills, which tied her career high, seven digs and two blocks.

Performances such as the one against Morehead State from senior leaders like Isringhausen have been a huge piece of the puzzle for the success of this team so far.

On Oct. 3, the Golden Eagles stayed at home and played conference rival Western Illinois. Tech won the match three to nothing, pushing their conference record to 3-0 in the early season.

Tech was able to take care of business the next day in their rematch, winning three to two in their fourth-straight conference victory.

Following the matches against WIU, three Golden Eagles were awarded with OVC weekly awards. Madolyn Isringhausen was named offensive player of the week, while junior setter Jordan Karlen (2) was awarded co-setter of the week. Freshman outside hitter Alayna Pierce (24) was named freshman of the week as well.

After the losses to Lindenwood, Tech currently sits at 4-2 in conference play and 15-3 overall. The Golden Eagles were sitting at 15-1 prior to the losses to the Lions, which was their best start in program history.

Tech will travel to Charleston, Illinois, this Friday and Saturday to continue conference play against Eastern Illinois (4-12, 0-6 OVC).
